Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first album she released on the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. She continued to upload her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. In July of 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time was interested in having her perform on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs.
